Back in October when TakingITGlobal first came to our class to tell us that we were the chosen class for their pilot class, I was really excited and I was really looking forward to participate in this pilot class. As members from TakingITGlobal came to our school, they explained to us what were going to do over the next few months and what they had planned for us. The plans were to divide the class into 10 groups for each understanding on the TakingITGlobal website and we were to do a documentary on the topic given to us with our groups. When I first found out my group was with Justine and Apira I was thought oh please I mean did I even know these people? I knew that I had them for classmates in some of my grades but I never had gotten to know them.
After a few months with Justine and Apira, I had the chance to know them better and found that their personality were very different yet nice. Apira was quiet well Justine was loud and I was in the middle. They were really hard workers and I found that the more time I spent with them, the easier it was to talk to them. I had really learned a lot during the time we were working on the project, finding out to use a lot of programs and learning a lot my topic media. I really spent a lot of time with Apira working and fixing the film, making it as perfect as it can be, making sure the sounds and the text came at the right moment and mixing the sounds so it blended. Justine as the hard worker she is, came in when ever she could to work on the flash. Soon the viewing of our films were closer the harder we work trying to finish the film on time.
On the day of the viewing of our class films and knowing that people were going to ask questions, I was really nervous. I was afraid of not being prepared for the questions they were going to ask and whether I was able of giving them a satisfied answer. As the night went by, the less nervous I was and I started to be more comfortable with the questions asked. As time flew by, the night soon ended with our hopes high and proud of ourselves knowing that very few grade eights would have their own business cards and brochures to show off.
